Reunions and parties were never quite his thing, people fed him up but his family never noticed. For him these kind of gatherings were nothing more than a grotesque orgy, he detested them some much that he would find the most ridiculous excuses to avoid them, only to hide in his room, in a world that he believed to be unbreakable. But there is always a day in which not even the mightiest of the excuses can save you, but this time there was something quite different. He loathed dancing, and yet he was there, in the middle of the ball room trying to dance with the beautiful young lady who had been the owner of his stare since the moment she entered the ball room. He was acting in a manner that even he couldn't recognize himself, and only to be able to share this moment with Enery... his beloved Enery, whom he had decided he would share his life with.
Still, happiness was not part of his destiny, and his mind only toyed with the poor child making him believe he had found it; and if there was anything that could end that lie, surely it was death, and so it happened: Enery suddenly became prey of her own frailty and hear crystal heart, a condition that worsened day by day, slowly taking its toll over her body and soul...
“Why must it be sickness running through her veins... and not me?"
She wanted her so madly... his obsession about being part of her life was so grand that he felt as if she had betrayed him by falling sick. Even so, just knowing she was escaping life in such a violent way pained him, it pained him to see how she stained the fine wool of her clothes with the blood he wished for himself, the one her body rejected and made her tremble as life escaped her body inch by inch.
He felt jealous of the sickness that ran across her, and he saw the best opportunity to end this when she, between cries and moans, pleaded for a quick end.
No more blood spilled between harsh breathings, no more violent shakes in the middle of the night. And such a noble tool he was to end her consumed warmth, that he felt his very dream accomplished by becoming her salvation.
Giving peace to the life he cherished, he realized that the world won’t take note of the nobility of his actions, and will surely brand him murderer of such a frail and beautiful creature. He knew what would wait for him in that place, so he decided it was time to leave the nest.
He convinced with soiled money a servant to round up the best horses his father had and transport him as far as possible, to the lands of Elenar, where never before he had set foot and nobody had seen his face. A perfect place for a new beginning.

A person's name is the reflection of his soul, and our tragic hero had proved that he needed to get away from his soul to get away from his glorious "crime". From Abel he transformed into Matthew for the bartender, and into Leigh for the bum who asked for a penny in the streets, he changed personas every now and then, until he decided on his final mask, one man named Daniel who rented a secluded room in a hostel, who only said his name once to the innkeeper when he rented the room.
And that cold hostel room watched him eerily as he wrote about his beloved Enery, and his charity for her, that no one could ever understood, of course, they were not there, they didn’t listened to the princess’ plea for help, they couldn’t fathom the idea that the princess wanted it to end that way! So grand was his depression that he decided he would meet his beloved for the last time, to make amends once and for all.
Word, words, and more words painfully filled the paper. From time to time he went out of his room timidly and cautiously to avoid raising suspicions, but he would not rest until his thoughts were made eternal, his reasons made noble and not cruel.

Days and Nights.
Until the day he finally marked with his own ink the final period, not with a pen, but with his sword; not with black ink, but with his blood. To be able to make his existence eternal as he did with the princess’ life, making himself eternal as he agonized, his face turning pale as the blood dripped from his chest.
And the ceiling of the hostel suddenly became those beautiful eyes he remembered so well. And memories flashed before him, past... or future? Surely it didn’t matter anymore; the only thing he wanted in that very moment was to be with her… And well, even if it was for a brief moment… You could say his wish was granted.
